League Information & Divisions

Listed below are the divisions available to participants. The number of participants registered & the number of teams that can be created in each division dictate the league identification each will receive once registration is closed. League identifications are "In-House", "Parish", "Transfer", or "Discontinued". Any programs labelled as Non-Sanctioned are "In-House". SLYSI may perform a merger with another LRPD association to achieve a "In-House" identification for a division.

SLYSI will enable a Wait List feature ONLY for divisions that have a past history of receiving a "Transfer" or "Discontinued" identification. That DOES NOT mean the division cannot receive a "Parish" identification. The Wait List feature is utilized to provide a CRA (commitment required at activation) option. Once enabled a player can register and obtain a spot without requiring payment at that time. Once a Wait List registration is complete, a email will be sent to provide details. The Wait List feature is a no risk registration, no payment required unless SLYSI can create a team, no refund needed if a player must transfer or cancel registration.

"In-House" Leagues identified by IHL consist of 28+ players divided into 4+ teams at minimum. Practices are at the SLYSI Middle School partner or a LRPD Recreation Center. Games are played at the SLYSI Middle School partner. If a division was created via a merger, occasional travel is involved. Merger division games can be played at either associations Middle School partner.

"Parish" Leagues identified by PL consist of 7-27 players divided into 1-3 teams. Practices are at the SLYSI Middle School partner or a LRPD Recreation Center. Travel for games is necessary, games are played at LRPD Recreation Centers with the exception of SLYSI team's head-to-head games which are played at the SLYSI Middle School partner.

"Transfer" Leagues identified by TL consist of 1-6 players which cannot create a team. SLYSI players are given the option by LRPD to accept transfer to another association which can create a team in the division. SLYSI players can decline transfer with the option to "play up" in next age division if SLYSI is able to create a team in that division, rollover registration to a future sport program, or contact their league coordinator if all other options are exhausted. SLYSI players who accept transfer are subject to the other associations practice/game schedule & locations.

"Discontinued" Leagues identified by DL are divisions that, after combining all 7 Lafayette Parish associations, did not reach the LRPD minimum team counts to form a sustainable league. SLYSI players may have the option to "play up" in the next age division if SLYSI is able to create a team in the division, rollover registration to a future sport program, or contact their league coordinator if all other options are exhausted. Coed U6 has no other option except to cancel registration if the division is identified as "Discontinued".
